Man arrested for allegedly holding girlfriend hostage, firing at officers

CARTER COUNTY, OK-- A Carter County man was arrested, Wednesday, accused of holding his girlfriend hostage and firing shots at officers.

42-year-old, Scott Conley, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic abuse, and possession of marijuana.

Sheriff Milton Anthony says Conley's girlfriend called 911 stating Conley was beating and choking her.

When deputies arrived, he says Conley was holding the woman at gunpoint inside the home.

She escaped through a back door but Conley refused to come outside, firing at deputies.

Officials say the woman was treated and released from a local hospital.

Conley was jailed on a $30,000 bond.
