LOVE CO., OK -- Authorities say a man charged with shooting and killing his brother in Love County made a brief escape from the jail.

Love County Sheriff Joe Russell says a maintenance worker and a jailer were in Jefferson's cell.

When the jailer turned her back Jefferson took off out the door.

He only got a few blocks before the jailer picked him back up and brought him back.

They say his bond was denied.

OSBI says back in December, Leroy, his brother Jeremy, and their father went to a friends home in Burneyville.

Leroy allegedly picked up a shotgun and fired multiple times at his brother.

Another court date will be set when a scheduled competency evaluation is completed.
