LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- A Lamar County man drowned in a creek, about 12 miles northeast of Paris Monday, after his car was swept away by the water.
DPS Trooper Mark Tackett says just before 6 P.M. the Lamar County Sheriff's Office received a call of a body found in Pine Creek on County Road 45600 just outside the Pin Hook community.
Sheriff Deputies arrived to find 55-year old Danny Roberts, of Powderly, inside his partially submerged vehicle.
Tackett says they believe he drove across the low-water crossing and his vehicle was swept away, trapping him inside.
