CARTER COUNTY, OK - A high speed chase through Carter County ended this afternoon when the suspects crashed their car.

The two suspects took off when troopers pulled them over for a seat belt check at Veterans Boulevard and Refinery Road.

They said the driver sped off north on Refinery Road hitting speeds of up to 120 miles an hour.

Troopers and Ardmore officers chased him west on Highway 53. After passing over the interstate the driver lost control and crashed on the south side of the road into trees. Troopers said they found drugs and a loaded firearm inside the car.

The man driving the vehicle was air flown to a Wichita Falls hospital. A woman, who was a passenger, was flown to Plano.

One trooper involved in the pursuit said charges haven't been filed yet, but are coming.

"They weren't free to leave the scene, they were both placed in handcuffs," said OHP Lt. Darian Galloway. "But due to their injuries they were not released from custody, but they were flown out to get medical treatment."

The two could face charges of attempting to elude an officer and obstructing an officer among others.

Troopers said they will release the names of the two suspects when they notify next of kin.
