CARTER COUNTY, OK -- The man arrested Sunday after a fatal shooting in Carter County has now been released pending further investigation.
The Carter County sheriff's office say Travis Gillaspy shot and killed 47-year-old Sammy Beaird Sunday afternoon after getting into an argument.
The incident occurred at a home on the 2500 block of Knob Hill Road between Healdton and Ratliff City.
Carter County District Attorney Craig Ladd says, it now appears Gillaspy may have been acting in self defense and a more comprehensive investigation is currently underway.
