LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- Lamar County will soon have a mass alert notification system to help notify its citizens in case of an emergency.
County Commissioners unanimously selected Code Red, the same system the city of Paris uses, as the county's notification system.
The county will be paying $14,000 for the system, that will provide county residents with a text, email and phone call for severe weather and more.
The system is expected to be implemented in the next few weeks, after training.
