LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- Authorities say a semi driver, who ran off the road Thursday morning in Lamar County, may have suffered a medical episode.
Lamar County Sheriff's Deputies say just before noon a semi truck was heading southbound on SH 19/24, when the driver suffered what is believed to be a medical episode.
He then crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway, struck a utility pole and drove through a corn field before coming to a stop.
The driver was taken by ambulance to PRMC. His condition is unknown.
Traffic was temporarily shut down due to a power line laying across the highway. Lamar Electric Co-op says, about 130 homes lost power but it has since been restored.
