More suspicious Cartwright house fires

CARTWRIGHT, OKLAHOMA -- Just before midnight last night, two more Cartwright homes went up in flames.

Firefighters say it's the fourth suspicious house fire there in the past few weeks.

Asst. Fire Chief David Bray says around 11:30 last night, Colbert and Carwright firefighters responded to a home off Aspin Drive.

While they were in route, another call came in for a fire just three blocks away.

That house fire was minor, but the abandoned home off Aspin Drive is a total loss.

Bray says this many suspicious fires so close together are unusual for Cartwright.

"This is only the second time in my stay here that we've had this many fires that were close together that have been suspicious," Bray said.

The state fire marshal's office and the Bryan County Sheriff's Office are assisting the investigation.
