GAINESVILLE, TX -- More than 200 people showed up Saturday night to raise money for a boy diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

The family of 7-year-old Hunter Alford held a benefit at the KC hall to raise money for his treatment.

They haven't added up a total dollar amount as of Saturday night, since the event is still going on. But they said they've received several large donations - in addition to a raffle and an auction.

The family says they're very thankful for the community's generosity.
