Movie is filmed in Whitewright

WHITEWRIGHT, TX -- A Texoma town is the back drop for a film. The movie "John and Claudia" is being filmed in Whitewright. The crew is using the city's downtown area for many scenes for the 1970's love story. Extras from the community will also make some appearances in the film.

This is the second movie that's come to Whitewright in the last year. The Whitewright Economic Development Corporation is excited about the added tourism and economic boost for the city. The filmmakers and actors say the town is perfect for the film.

"This place lets you point a camera where ever you want to point it and set a scene however you want to set it. And that's a dream for me because I don't have to compromise with the city and I can do what I need to do. And in states like Texas, increased film tax incentives, it makes that possible for filmmakers and it makes filmmakers want to come and film here," Director of "John and Claudia", David Redish said.

"The people are just lovely, I mean I know a few of them by name now and they all say hi," Actress "Claudia", Allegra Lucchesi said.

Once the movie wraps up the director says they will submit it to many film festivals.
