Murray Co. couple denied bond in child abuse case

SULPHUR, OK - Bond is denied for a Murray County couple accused of abusing a 9-month-old girl.

22-year-old Justin Blake Scott Nye is charged with child abuse after a former felony conviction. Nye is a registered sex offender.

The infant's mother 21-year-old Bethanee Taylor is charged with enabling child abuse.

Police launched an investigation into the couple after the infant was taken to Mercy Hospital Ardmore with multiple lacerations and broken bones last week.

An affidavit states the abuse took place at Nye's home on the 1000 block of West 11th Street in Sulphur.

The infant and Taylor's 3-year-old child are in DHS custody. Court documents show Taylor is five months pregnant.

The couple's preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 23.
