Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
MURRAY COUNTY, OK -- The search continues Tuesday evening for a man authorities believed drowned in a Murray County lake Saturday.
Park rangers at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur say a 51-year-old man jumped off a pontoon boat into the Lake of the Arbuckles to swim around 1:30 PM Saturday afternoon and never resurfaced.
Rangers say they've been searching for the man ever since, but have not been able to locate him.
They believe he drowned in approximately 70 feet of water.
They'll say they'll keep combing the lake until they find him.
