SULPHUR, OK - A Murray County sheriff's deputy charged with taking narcotics held as evidence is now free on bond.
The Murray County District Attorney's Office says 28-year old Cody Harper was charged on September 12th with larceny of a controlled dangerous substance. Authorities say Harper turned himself in after taking numerous oxycodone and hydrocodine pills that were being held as evidence. They say none of the narcotics were recovered.
Harper's preliminary hearing is set for November 14th at 9 a.m. The Murray County Sheriff's Office would not comment on whether Harper was still employed as a deputy.
