SULPHUR, OK - A Murray County sheriff's deputy charged with taking narcotics held as evidence is now free on bond.

The Murray County District Attorney's Office says 28-year old Cody Harper was charged on September 12th with larceny of a controlled dangerous substance. Authorities say Harper turned himself in after taking numerous oxycodone and hydrocodine pills that were being held as evidence. They say none of the narcotics were recovered.

Harper's preliminary hearing is set for November 14th at 9 a.m. The Murray County Sheriff's Office would not comment on whether Harper was still employed as a deputy.

He stole from the department he worked for (which he admitted too, so he is GUILTY). And to top that off he stole narcotics..I have to wonder if he was going to use those to set someone up after a traffic stop or if he took them..Regardless of what he used them for he still admitted guilt..And if he is still working as a law inforcement GOD HELP US..

DID HE ADMIT TO TAKING THE DRUGS HIMSELF? MAYBE HE WAS GOING TO USE THEM TO CATCH SOMEONE ELSE. HE IS NOT GUILTY UNTIL HE IS PROVEN GUILTY. DONT LET A GOOD MAN GO THAT WORKS HARD AND PROTECT US. AFTER ALL HE IS LEGAL TO BE HERE AND HE WORKS TOO. DROP THE CHARGES YALL AND PUT HIM BACK TO WORK.
