GAINESVILLE,TX -- North Central Texas Community College will soon have their own police department.
NCTC regents unanimously voted to establish a police force at Monday's meeting.
The school is looking to hire a Director of Campus Police and an Emergency Management director.
They also plan to buy the first police vehicle by September.
Then in July 2014, they plan to hire another officer for the Gainesville campus.
The department's annual budget would be more than $300,000 dollars in the first year and would jump to over $500,000 by year 5.
Officers will also be added to the Corinth and Flower Mound campuses.
