POTTSBORO, Texas -- New details emerge in the moments leading up to the shooting death of a man in Pottsboro on Monday.
44-year-old Charles Carter posted a video to Facebook hours before he was fatally shot.
"I am watching a lot of people that I respect fight with each other and we don't need to do that anymore," Carter said in the video.
Carter called himself a "right-wing patriot" and according to social media posts, he was an organizer of a cross country anti-Obama march.
The Grayson County Sheriff's Office said Carter was gunned down at a Pottsboro home on Monday.
"There is no family relationship," Lt. Sarah Bigham said. "They were friends or acquaintances."
Deputies identified the alleged shooter as 62-year-old Vincent Smith.
An online article posted by "Raw Story" states Smith was also a "right-wing patriot".
Investigators say Smith was allowing Carter to stay on his property at the time of the shooting.
"At the end of the investigation, all the collected information will be turned over to the district attorney and they will make the determination about whether charges will be filed against Mr. Smith," Bigham said.
Authorities are not saying what led up to the shooting but friends claim the men were in a drunken argument over a gun.
Carter talks about a fight within the group during his Facebook video post.
"If you have something negative to say about someone try and keep it to yourself," Carter said. "I don't care what the reason is, who started. It is like a bunch of children fighting with each other."
No one has been arrested in Carter's death because deputies haven't ruled out self defense.
