GRAYSON COUNTY, TX - Grayson County Sheriff's Investigators are tracking down witnesses and looking for suspects in the suspicious death of 48-year-old Albert Duane Parker of Denison. His body was found yesterday in a field just east of Sherman.

Amy Timberlake says since 48-year-old Albert Duane Parker moved into a Denison house, just down the street from her, she hasn't allowed her children to play past the corner of her street.

"There were several instances where we came home and either the police were here or the police would be called in the middle of the night. I came home from work one day and he was chasing a guy down the street in his underwear with a baseball bat, screaming and yelling at him," said Timberlake.

She says while Parker and the traffic at his house made her feel unsafe, it was upsetting to hear he had been killed.

Online records show Parker had an extensive criminal history dating back to 1983. They also show he was released from prison two months ago, where he had been serving time for drug charges.

"You always have to wonder what happened in someone's life to make them resort to those things, to make them choose that as their lifestyle," said Timberlake.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office says they're still waiting on autopsy results but they estimate Parker had been in the field where they found him for a day or two before Sherman Police got the call saying someone had found his body.

That call came in around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Texas Rangers came out to assist in the investigation, and TxDPS brought a helicopter to take aerial photos and look for evidence above the field on Baker Ridge road, just off U.S. Highway 82.

"We're currently tracking down some witnesses that we know of and looking for suspects," said Grayson County Sheriff's Lt. Rickey Wheeler.

Lt. Wheeler says when they found Parker, he was clothed and had visible abrasions on his body. He says the homicide investigation is ongoing.

News 12 did speak with one of Parker's relatives, who didn't want to be identified, but asks for prayers for the family.

We will continue to follow the investigation and bring you the latest details as we get them.
