GRAYSON CO - Construction began earlier this month on what will eventually become the Creed Canyon Luxury Apartments.
Plans that started on paper are now materializing.
Developer Matthew Looney says construction of the Creed Canyon Luxury apartments is on track, "we are right on schedule. Should deliver our first apartment the end of May, first of June."
Looney also expects the pool and clubhouse to be ready with the completion of the first building.
After that, they will deliver one building every month until it's finished.
The complex will be a gated community with 176 units. Some residents who live just behind the site have concerns about the new apartments. One woman told News 12 she would like a fence built to divide the neighborhoods.
But Looney says these will be upscale apartments, "We typically discuss apartments in class A to B to C, and we are building Class A apartments."
The complex will include 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units at a range of $615 up to $1150 per month.
Sherman director of public works and engineering, Clay Barnett, says they'll inspect each building as it's completed, "Any public infrastructure that's involved water lines sewer lines, that kind of construction that we'll continue to keep an eye on."
Looney says with the location so close to Town Center, he hopes people will walk to those businesses from their homes.
