PARIS, TEXAS-- A new summer program launching Saturday is promoting helmet safety.
The project BIKE campaign, led by sixth grader Sahil Prakash, the Paris Police Department and Dairy Queen have partnered up to provide a reward for children wearing helmets while riding bicycles and skate boards.
Children under 17 who are seen wearing helmets will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone from the Paris Dairy Queen.
Sahil has raised money to provide certified helmets to children who cannot afford one.
The project starts June 15th and will end August 31st.
