Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
SHERMAN, TEXAS -- An accident shut down Highway 75 in Sherman this afternoon.
Sgt. D.M. Hampton with Sherman police says a car did not yield to oncoming traffic when trying to merge onto the highway between Washington and Travis.
That caused another car, in the right lane of the highway, to quickly hit the brakes, causing a motorcycle to rear-end it.
The motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident shut down traffic for about 45 minutes.
