Normal A&M activity resumes after Code Maroon

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - A campus-wide alert stopped down activity on the Texas A&M University campus for about an hour after an armed man was reported on campus.

The alert issued just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday directed those in campus buildings to remain where they were and those outdoors top seek shelter. Just before 5:30 p.m., the school's website said those on campus could "resume activities" but remain cautious

School spokesman Jason Cook said someone on campus made the report and police are searching the central part of the 5,000-acre university near the Sanders Corps Center.
