LONE GROVE, OK - Motorcyclists in southern Oklahoma had a chance to learn how to be safer on the road Saturday.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol hosted a motorcycle safety course in Lone Grove.
Ten riders showed up for the free class where they learned proper braking, how to move in slow situations and how to avoid accidents.
The trooper leading the instruction said the class focuses on what OHP is taught.
"The stuff that we've learned through our motorcycle training as law enforcement officers helps us on our own personal motorcycles and we want these guys to have the same skills to stay alive as we do," said OHP motorcycle trooper Brian Medeiros.
The class is paid for by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
