ATOKA COUNTY, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating after a school bus crashed into a tree in Atoka County Wednesday afternoon.
According to Lieutenant Scott Hampton, the accident happened just before 4 PM on Coal Creek Road.
Hampton says the bus contained 16 students, 13 years of age and younger. Only a few students on the bus suffered minor injures.
He says the bus driver was not seriously injured, but has been cited for failing to negotiate a curve in the road.
