ARDMORE, OK -- Local Law enforcement says they'll be cracking down on drunk drivers for the next couple of weeks.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is kicking off their annual "Drive Sober or get Pulled Over" campaign.
The nationwide effort to make roads safer starts today and goes through Labor Day weekend.
Lieutenant Jay Clary with Troop F says, more troopers will be out on the roads looking for impaired drivers and conducting checkpoints.

"It lets the public know that there's a need, a continued need that law enforcement be out, be present, be looking for these violations, and get the public to cooperate with you," said Clary.

Clary says If you plan to drink, always designate a sober driver.
