COAL COUNTY, OK -- An OSU Extension building is in the works for Coal County.

Monday morning, Commissioners chose an architecture company that will design the extension office. Economic Development Director Allen Leaird says they plan to build the office off HWY 75 in Coalgate.

Currently the extension office is located in the court house. Leaird says the new building is a way to give back to OSU and to expand what they do in the community.

"They do you know a lot of things for the county, for the farmers, for the ranchers in the community, 4-H, the calf and livestock shows, and stuff that really goes into the roots of what Coal County is and Southern Oklahoma is," Leaird said.

If all goes as planned, Leaird says the building will have four offices, storage units and a conference room.
