Officials in Bonham look to fill two key positions

BONHAM, TX--Mayor Roy Floyd says the City has already received 34 resumes to replace outgoing City Manager, Corby Alexander.

They will continue to collect applications through Friday, and will meet in a special session Monday to narrow down their choices to 5 or 6 applicants.

Alexander will head to La Porte, Texas after five years with the City of Bonham.

Also leaving after five years in Fannin County, is Superintendent Sonny Cruse.

The Board of Trustees for Bonham ISD met Monday night, to discuss how they will conduct the application process to fill the position.

Bonham Board President, Lance Davis, says the opening will be posted, Tuesday, on the district website, where applications can be turned in, to a secure website.

The position will be open for ten days, then the board will meet again, to determine finalists.

Sonny Cruse, will leave at the end of July, to take the Deputy Superintendent position in Huntsville, Texas.

Corby Alexander seemed to do a great job for Bonham, as apposed to past city managers. I hope we can find someone comparable to him. As far as Cruse, I hope they go outside the district again. Promoting from within Bonham is a failed experiment.

Losing Alexander is a huge step backwards for Bonham. The ouster of Floyd and his cronies would be a step forward.

Now maybe Bonham can move forward in a better way.
