HOWE, TX -- An Oklahoma State Senator arrested for DWI in Howe is headed to trial.

Grayson County Court Records show Senator Harry Coates waived his right to an arraignment and is set for trial next January.

Coates was arrested in May after police say he was having difficulty staying in one lane on southbound on Highway 75.

Howe Police Chief, Carl Hudman, says when officers pulled him over near Farmington Road, Coates couldn't maintain his balance.

He faces a DWI charge for a Blood Alcohol Content greater than, or equal to, 0.15.

His pre trial hearing is set for January 9th.
