OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Idabel's former fire chief has been indicted by Oklahoma's multicounty grand jury for filing fraudulent time sheets.
An indictment handed up Thursday accuses 47-year-old Proctor Young of seven counts of making a false, fictitious or fraudulent claim.
It alleges that on various dates between September 2010 and February 2012, Young filed employee time sheets with city officials claiming he was working in the McCurtain County city at the time.
But the indictment says Young was actually working as an elementary or secondary school sports official at various locations outside the city, including Hugo, Broken Bow, Atoka, Haworth and Forest Grove.
It was not immediately clear if Young has an attorney. If convicted, Young faces up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 on each count.
