OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The state Tourism and Recreation Department says it can't release a copy of a contract to sell more than 1,000 acres of Lake Texoma state park land because an agreement with the developer who has yet to begin construction of a promised project on land it has already purchased.
The contract is for the sale of 1,022 acres to Pointe Vista Development.
The only part of the contract released to The Oklahoman is a clause stating the document is not subject to Oklahoma's Open Records Act. A tourism department attorney said the contract can't be released without consent from Pointe Vista.
Pointe Vista officials declined comment.
Pointe Vista has bought 758 acres of park land for $14.6 million - but promised construction of a hotel where a lodge once stood has not begun.
