OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin says she is sending a 10-person operations support team to New York to help that state recover from the damaging effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Fallin and Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management officials announced Tuesday their plan to dispatch the team. It includes OEM personnel, along with officials from the Department of Public Safety and the city of Tulsa. They plan to help support New York's emergency operations center.

Fallin says her office is reaching out to governors in other hard-hit states and will send further support if requested.

She says Oklahoma and New York have a special bond since first responders from both states worked together after the bombing of the Murrah building in 1995 and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York.
