Old Fannin Co. jail demolition complete

BONHAM, TX -- After standing for decades, a historic Fannin County building is no more.

Demolition of the old Fannin County jail began early November. The building, built in the early 40's, was outdated and too expensive to repair.

After just four weeks, you can see where the old building once stood is now an empty lot. County commissioners set aside $18,000 to demolish the jail.

County Judge Spanky Carter says there aren't any plans for something new to go in it's spot just yet.
