One veteran has the chance to become a mortgage-free homeowner in Ardmore.

Operation Homefront is donating a home to a veteran or military family in Ardmore that's already paid for.

The home has three bedrooms, two baths and is close to Lake Murray State Park.

It's the first home the organization will give away in Oklahoma.

Their executive director for Oklahoma and Arkansas hopes it will help a veteran who needs it.

"It's a great opportunity for us to give back to our military families and help them reestablish community ties where they're from," said Carol Herrick, the executive director for the two states said.

Veterans can apply on Operation Homefront's website, and the application process will close April 16th.
