PEDC results not being sent to Texas AG and Comptrollers office

PARIS, TX-- A heated argument over whether to send the Paris Economic Development Corporation's forensic investigation results to the Texas Attorney General ended with a failed motion.

Council member Dr. A.J. Hashmi spoke, stating the results of the forensic investigation, as they relates to former PEDC Executive Director, need to be sent to the Attorney General and Comptrollers office.

Council members argued that the recommendations said nothing about the PEDC not following the law. The motion failed 3-4.

The city council did set a tentative date for their joint meeting with the PEDC in a public forum for September 15th, pending approval with the PEDC board.

They plan to invite lead investigator Danny Defenbaugh.
