Paris City Council approves ALDI site plan

PARIS, TX-- ALDI is one step closer to opening their doors in the city of Paris.

The Paris City Council unanimously approved the site plan for ALDI to take over the space that used to be Hastings in Paris' Towne Center. The nearly 22,000 square foot building has been vacant for just over a year.

Several residents spoke in favor of the grocer, saying ALDI's unique style will fill a void Paris currently has.

"I think that ALDI is one thing that we do need here in Paris to give a better variety for grocery shopping," said Paris resident Troy Jones.

"Ardmore has one, Sherman has one and they are just drawing people like crazy," said resident Ricky Utley.

ALDI's Civil Engineer, Bryan Burger, says they are ready to submit for building permits. Once approved, they hope to start construction in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
