PARIS, TX-- Sign ups are now available for the Paris Police and Fire Departments citizen academies.
Both of the academies will be held next month, but the sign up is a first come first serve basis. The fire academy will take about 15 applicants while the police academy will have about 35.
Those interested in learning about what local law enforcement does will participate in a 10 week course, and will meet Tuesdays at 6 P.M. starting September 16th. There is also one Saturday class where students are taken to the firing range for demonstrations.

Those interested in getting hands on experience at the fire department will have an 6 week course, and will meet on Thursdays from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. starting September 11th. There is also one Saturday for a live burning activity.
