PARIS, TX-- Paris Mayor A.J Hashmi says Pakistan's ex-leader is too sick to show up at court to face treason charges.
Hashmi has been treating Pakistan's General Pervez Musharraf since 2006. He says Musharraf is suffering from an alarming heart condition, and he needs to be transferred to the U.S for urgent treatment.
Hashmi's letter was presented by Musharraf’s lawyer to a Special Court that is considering treason charges against him.
Musharraf was summoned last year, but failed to appear four times citing security or health concerns.
