Paris city council hires national retail firm

PARIS, TX-- The Paris city council has hired a national retail consulting firm to help bring more businesses to the area.

The council unanimously agreed to a one year, nearly $30,000 agreement, with The Retail Coach.

The Retail Coach will complete surveys, studies and other research work to identify leakages, gaps and potential new businesses that would add to Paris' economic development. Vice President Aaron Farmer says, he spent a few days in the area and knows they will be successful.

"One of the words that comes to mind is under served," said Farmer. "I think if we were to ask every citizen if you're under served when it comes to retailers and restaurants, and we can help get you in front of some of those."

Farmer says The Retail Coach will be back in Paris in about two weeks.
