Paris fire chief retires

PARIS, TEXAS -- After more than three decades with the Paris Fire Department, and eleven years as chief, a familiar face is stepping down.

Chief Ronnie Grooms joined the department 34 years ago. He was promoted to chief in 2001. Now, he says he's retiring.

Assistant Chief Dale Maberry says Grooms will leave the department on October 15th, the same day Grooms started with the department.. back in 1978.
