DENISON, TX -- A local man got quite a scare Thursday afternoon when his truck left the roadway and flew into a tree.
The rollover happened on Texoma Parkway just north of FM 691 around 1 p.m.
Police say they're still investigating why the truck left the road. But they said it appears the driver over-corrected, causing him to roll into the woods.
Police say the driver was fortunate to walk away from this rollover accident.
"It's a lot more common than what it used to be with all the safety devices on the vehicles. The seat belts, air bags, and so forth. But certainly using the safety equipment is a huge advantage," said Lt. Mike Eppler.
Police say no one else was in the vehicle. They say the driver checked himself into the hospital with minor injuries.
