HUGO, OK -- Hugo Police are investigating an early morning robbery where two men got away with over a thousand dollars from a local fast food restaurant.
Around 6:45 Wednesday morning, Hugo Investigators say a Subway employee was getting ready to open the store when two men with masks and hoodies came into the restaurant.
"One was brandishing what looked to be a long barrel revolver and they demanded the cash and change from the drawer," said Hugo Investigator Billy Jenkins.
The employee told police the front door was unlocked to allow other employees in. A witness reported seeing the two men run out, heading north through a field behind the restaurant.
"She followed them and she lost them about two blocks from the store," said Jenkins. "We believe they were picked up, but we are not exactly sure who and how."
Police say the men got away with the previous day's deposit, more than $1,400 in cash and coins. Neither the employee nor the witness were able to describe two robbers since their faces were hidden.
"They were masked and gloved," said Jenkins. "It was really to tell what race they were."
