PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- Another Pontotoc County detention officer has been arrested. This time accused of trying to bring contraband into the jail.

Devin Adams was allegedly caught trying to sneak a phone charger, cigarette lighters, rolling paper and tobacco, and marijuana into the jail Thursday night.

Sheriff John Christian says these recent arrests will not affect their hiring practices but they do want to make sure offenders are properly punished.

Christian said, "I don't want that person to have an opportunity to have a job of public trust like this again. So my objective here is to make sure that charges are filed."

Adams pleaded not guilty in court today and is scheduled to be back in court July 2nd.

He's out on $50,000 bond.
