PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- Heavy storms damaged a dozen homes in Pontotoc County Friday morning.
Nearly a dozen homeowners are spending their Friday cleaning up broken tree branches and brush after officials say straight line winds came through a small neighborhood in Pickett...just west of Ada.
"Two homes that received major damage and approximately eight or 10 homes that received minor damage, roof damage, damage to out buildings, storage buildings and things of that nature," said Pontotoc County Under Sheriff, Arnold Scott.
Scott says there were no injuries reported.
Pickett resident, Holly Wood, says she saw the storm come through.
"Looking out my living room window and I heard a very loud wind," Wood said.
Wood says she was shocked at how much damage was left in a short amount of time, especially to her neighbor's home just a few feet away.
"I was just kind of in shock that it happened so quickly and it's kind of a big surprise that things can happen in a hurry," Wood said.
She says she is fortunate her home only suffered minor roof and garage damage.
Scott says crews will continue to remove tree branches and other brush off the roads.
