SPRINGDALE, AR -- After nearly three months on the loose, a Pontotoc County fugitive has been captured.

31-year-old Fernando Rojas, wanted for second degree murder, was found in Springdale, Arkansas.

Rojas was first arrested after a car accident in Pontotoc County that killed Marciano Lopez-Perez in March.

Ada Police officials say Rojas escaped the hospital with one of the passengers, Sandra Castro.

On Monday, Officer Dewayne Campbell, answered a call from an english translator who stated that Castro said she was being held against her will in Springdale, and was scared for her life.

"Ms. Castro stated that if law enforcement was not on the scene at the time Mr. Rojas arrived home that he would know something was up, and that she was fearful for her safety and for her child's safety at that time, " said Campbell.

Campbell says with the help of Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Springdale Police, and the U.S. Marshals office, they were able to track down and capture Rojas.
