ADA, OK - A Pontotoc County Detention Center employee is now behind bars for attempting to bring methamphetamine into the jail.

The sheriff's office tells us 35-year-old Robert John Dickerson was arrested yesterday in an undercover bust in which he was caught making plans with an inmate to bring meth into the Justice Center.

Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian says he worked with the District 22 Drug Task Force to catch Dickerson, who has worked at the Justice Center since April of 2009.

Dickerson is facing a total of four charges.

the jailer was trying to obtain the guns to sell and split the money with undercovers. he was getting drugs for his own use and others. an inmate set it all up. D.nickell, the inmate was looking at 20 years and decided this was easier.

Rick, I agree with you. It is a shame this guy abused his position for his own gain. One part of the story is not clear. It was said the undercover agent sold him meth and four guns. Was he trying to smuggle guns into the jail too or was he just an illegal firearms dealer as well as a drug supplier?

To Texas Okie: I don't necessarily agree with your theory. It may seem as though so many offenders are from Oklahoma, BUT our local news stations report more Oklahoma news than Texas news. Scum-sucking pigs offend on both sides of the state line. Some are even state line "border jumpers".

Texas Educator, no one thinks ALL Oklahomans are low lifes. However, you do have to admit that on drug busts, molestations, rapes, etc (all of the serious and/or violent crimes) it seems that about 80% of them are in Oklahoma and the rest in Texas. Pay attention every day for a month and start counting serious drug crimes, murders, internal corruption like this one, molestations, etc, and you will see the facts. I'm not being ugly about it, but the truth is the truth!

Oklahoma's requirements must be pretty poor, because there are people with drug and DWI arrests and convictions who work in Oklahoma jails. Some of those offenses were committed while being employed by the county/state. And John Q, consider the possibility that this scum sucking pig has been successfully bringing in contraband to prisoners up to the point of being caught. Not uncommon for underpaid, unsuitable officers to bring in drugs and other contraband to prisoners for additional income. You get what you pay for - Are you listening, State of Oklahoma??????????????????

It's a shame that a law official has contributed to the illness of others, as well as tainted the name of his profession. However, I am a Texas educator...but a proud Oklahoman. I have to find humor in the arrogance and ignorance of those who post comments and stereotype ALL Oklahomans, by the fault of a few. Should ALL Texans be sterotyped as arrogant and ignorant, because of the comments of a few? It saddens me to know that you feel so threatened by Oklahomans, that you have to "bully" them publicly. By the way, RdRgr6....the correct spelling for "suspecious" is suspicious. An Okie would have known to proofread, before publishing.
