PARIS, TX-- A Powderly man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a Paris apartment, and leading officers on a chase.
Dispatchers received a burglary call in the 300 block of Stone Avenue just after 3 A.M. Sunday.
Officers say 19-year-old Johnny McLemore broke an apartment window, assaulted the woman living there and prevented her from calling 911. Police say the woman had a protective order against McLemore.
He then fled from officers on foot, but was found a short while later in a vacant building.
McLemore is being held in the Lamar County Jail on bonds totaling $24,000.
