LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- After four school buses were intentionally set on fire in November, Prairiland ISD's school board met Tuesday to discuss improving their security with new cameras.
Superintendent Jeff Ballard says they hope to put in a new server and 20 HD cameras in high traffic areas. He says the cameras they have now were installed around 14 years ago, and no longer meet their needs.
"The main thing is safety to students in everyday activity, said Ballard. "The cameras really help us solve problems. Kids know they are there and it prevents problems sometimes and it's just really important."
Ballard says they tabled the item and will be looking at bids for the new equipment to bring back to the next meeting.
No arrests have been made in the arson case. If you have any information contact the Lamar County Sheriff's Office.
