Precautionary boil order lifted in Durant

DURANT, OK - After a water main break and a precuationary boil order was issued over the weekend, Durant city officials say the town's water supply is safe to use.

After a major water main break late Friday evening in Durant, the City of Durant had issued a Precautionary Boil Order for drinking water purposes. Following the repair of the broken water main, the City of Durant says they did a water quality test to insure that there were no contaminants in the water supply.

The city says the results of the test indicate that the water is good, and there is no need to continue the boil order.
