Ravia family gets help after fire burns home

RAVIA, OK -- A community is coming together to help a Ravia family after their home burned down last weekend.

The Beesley's say they were sleeping when a fire ignited early Sunday morning. The family says a power strip, plugged into an outlet, started the fire.

The family made it out alive, but tell us they were treated for serious burns.

Summer Beesley says the trailer is a total loss, and they have no insurance.

She says one of her friends is putting on a poker run to raise money for them.

"They're going through hardships too, but they're like this is what we're gonna do and this is how we're gonna get things done. And we're gonna make sure that you guys can get back on your feet," said Beesley.

The poker run will be held on March 2nd. Registration will begin at 10:30 at Lacey's Bar in Kingston. It is $15 a person or $20 for a couple. All vehicles are welcome.
