Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
RENO, TX-- The utility increase the city of Reno issued just two days ago has been postponed until further review.
Mayor William "Buddy" Heuberger returned the disaster ordinance saying for the best interest of the residents the council should reconsider the ordinance.
The city sent out a press release Tuesday saying residents would be charged an extra $9.00 per month to their utility bills until funds were replenished from the ice storm.
"I felt like it would be best for the council and the city as a whole if I sent that back for reconsideration for the council," said Heuberger. "Let them review it and see if they want to make any changes in it."
The city council plans to discuss the ordinance at a future meeting.
