ARDMORE, OK-- State Representative Pat Ownbey has asked for a study of the safety at all Oklahoma state parks.

The request comes after the boating accident on Lake Murray last month that killed Ardmore residentRobbie Brooks.

In a statement, Ownbey said he was dismayed to hear about the accident and wants to see what options the state has to improve Oklahomans' safety at state-owned parks.

If the measure passes, a study would be done comparing Oklahoma's safety laws, to those of other states in regard to open containers, boating safety, and boat training for minors.
