ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say the arrest of an Anadarko couple is linked to the investigation that led to the resignation of Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll.

Carroll announced her resignation Wednesday. Her chief of staff, Adam Hollingsworth, says Carroll resigned so her ties to Allied Veterans of the World would not be a distraction for the administration.

On Tuesday, Chase Burns of Anadarko turned himself in to Caddo County authorities. Authorities accused Burns of making $290 million by supplying software to Allied Veterans for use in illegal gambling operations. His wife, Kristin Burns, was also arrested in connection with the case.

Chase Burns denies any wrongdoing. His father, who also serves as his attorney, tells The Oklahoman that Chase Burns sold software to Allied Veterans but did nothing illegal.
